Would like a recommendation for a neurosurgeon. Thanks!

I just had neck disk surgery last December by Dr Mark Oliver of the Ocala Neurosurgical Group. It was 100% successful, I am pain free, and have utmost confidence in Dr Oliver. They have office hours in Del Webb which is on 441 a little past Porter's Nursery. He also operated on my friend's back and she is doing great.

I had lumbar stenosis - L-3 - and was operated on by Dr Lora out of Ocala. He did a great job and I am pain free and doing good. His number is 352 732-3966. He works out of the Ocala hospital - ORMC.

My husband also had successful cervical spine surgery done last summer by Ocala Neurosurgy--Dr. Barry Kaplan.
And I might add that the hospital care at Monroe Regional was first rate. We've been to some of the biggest ( St. Luke's and Methodist) in the Texas Medical Center, and the experience at Monroe was better. The neurosurgery wing is well-run, personal, and germ-conscious.

I can say the same thing about the ORMC neurosurgery wing. Well-kept and staffed with caring personnel.

Anybody ever try chiroprators before resorting to surgery? Just curious as I am experiencing some minor back pain and thinking about alternatives to surgery.

I tried all sorts of alternatives for 30 years - maybe got a little relief for a while but my pain was always going to come back. Now it won't - it was a big decision but I knew it had to be done. I couldn't be happier than I am now - I feel like a new person.

I would guess it would depend on the problem.
It took me forever to get the doctor to schedule an MRI and after the MRI he was going to schedule me for a neurosurgeon but wanted me to try physical therapy first. After every visit I told the PT person it was not working. I finally told the doctor that I wanted to go see Dr Lora as he was in my network. Dr Lora said that no physical therapy could have helped my problem. Surgery was the only answer and now I feel great - most of the time.

PLEASE, Please, Please find yourself a GOOD Chiropractor first....It's non-invasive, affordable and painless, try Michelle Zielecki or her associate, both have a no nonsense approach, NO zillion visits....My husband is a chiropractor and that is where he goes and has sent many friends and all of them have had good results.
