Life in a courtyard Villa in the evening can be enjoyable and a great place to entertain. I have added 48 ft of Edison string bulbs (24) to my walls and it gets the wow factor every time. Removing the ugly mason jar light that most CYV Have.
The new lights are then connected into the existing outside porch light switch And secured to the walls with anchors.
I’ve had them up for a year now with no issues.
Total cost is under $300.00

Looks great!
You can take it up a notch and make the lights smart by making them come on dusk to Dawn, voice controlled or at random times (for security)

IMO Not good idea if they shine in the neighbors windows. Some put flood lights in by the porch lights. The lights can’t shine in neighbors windows. Kind like being next to prison. Especially it you have kissing lani’s .

Courtyard villages do not have kissing Lani’s the 1/2 bulbs hang 15”below the wall. They Work off the switch that would turn the back light on, there is no need to have them on all night. It does create a nice look at night.
