Many golfers that I've talked to say that if you don't play at least three times a week on Championship Courses then it not worth the expense...theres not much savings on green fees for members and non members.......and there are almost always tee times available...
I'm sure there will be lots of comments on this..........

Is this a problem if you have a group? Winter rates seem to encourage golf "off campus"...In our village, a lot of neighbors have dropped out of priority membership that have been members for many years...In the winter this is a problem to set up games....If everyone did not join the priority, there probably would not be a problem....My husband feels that you should not get a tee-time based on the amount of money given....but that makes the world "go round":cus:...What do you think?

Priority membership includes executive course trail fees, country club pool access. Green fees are 15.00 less than resident fees from jan - apr.(high season) and 10.00 less oct - dec and 5.00 less may - oct. found this site www.golfthevillages.com. click on championship golf (bar with the sand trap pix), then on words "priority membership". Lots of info and phone numbers at bottom of page under "contact us", hope this helps.
Oh ....almost forgot, also need priority to play mens day and tourneys on the championship courses as well as couples events.

Pros: access to country club pools, preferred tee times, includes executive course trail fees, Men's Day and discounted golf.
Cons: If you play enough golf there are none
Being a priority member is a no brainer for my wife and I. The break even is pretty simple to calculate (unless I am having math issues again :)). We do a yearly membership ourselves (940 + tax), but if you look at a 6 month membership for a couple as an example. It costs:
$740 + tax
We play executive courses, so if we did not have a priority membership that would cost $105 each or $210 (I cannot remember if tax included).
If we just look at the winter months (Jan through April) green fees are reduced $15 each every time we play. We like to play "championship courses" twice a week. In a winter that I hope is the worst weather I will ever see again in TV we have already played 20 times each. That is 40 rounds which is $600.
I do not need to do any more work, we have already broken even.
In the fall (10/15 – Dec) you save $10/round
In the summer you save $5
I want to in no way encourage people to become priority members, as there are only so many tee times ;)
