The Daily Sun reprinted an AP story. Stick your finger in their eye. Of course, I should think the Sun would have the ability to edit and correct a typo in a reprint. Maybe not.

Are they trying to make a mountain out of a molehill?
East of Albuquerque lie two abutting mountain ranges, the Sandias and the Manzanos (watermelons and apples in Spanish). Sandia is feminine; manzano is masculine; fair enough?

A Google search for "re-captured a female mountain" reveals many newspapers that repeated the error - I guess everyone was asleep at the wheel :-)
