My question is, if I can’t come to TV for closing. It’s a cash offer. Can I close by mail? What would be the procedure?

The title company will work that out with you. Very easy to do. Get in touch with them to let them know

No worries we close on all three of our houses in TV by mail.

Please be careful and double check any emails regarding where to transfer money, then CALL to verify the address is correct, there have been several reports about scams where hackers get the real-estate agent or banks email system then send out a fake email with THEIR banking info, and your money is gone!
On a more positive note a BIG WELCOME to The Villages, maybe we will bump into each other.

Be careful, too, that what you saw on your viewing is the same as it is on closing day! Friends of ours went for their walk through the morning of the closing and found a switch for a much older refrigerator!!! They had to threaten to NOT close before the two real estate folks resolved the issue to their favor!

Our realtor ran the closing for us. Keep us informed on what to do, when, with who, etc. All went well. When we showed up, the keys were at the realtors office.

Our realtor took care of all of this for us even the inspection and final walk through. Couldn't have been easier.

My realtor gave me a handwritten note about the check I gave her to give to the escrow company several weeks ago. I have not heard anything since from the escrow I am thousands of miles away and now I’m concerned. There have been warnings about fraud which I take seriously, and I hope not to end up homeless because I tried to buy a house in The Villages....
 And the reason you are posting here and not on the phone with your real estate agent? :ohdear:

We closed on our first home, newly built by mail. No problems.
We have walked through homes for friends who were going to close remotely. No problems.
Hurry and come and live with all of us. You won't ever regret it.

If the money is in escrow, then it is being held by the escrow company, not by the realtor. The escrow company is an independent third party with fiduciary responsibilities. If the check was cashed, then you should be able to get a copy of it from your bank and see who cashed it. You can call the escrow company and they should be able to tell you whatever you want to know about your check and how the funds will be handled by them.

You are right, I called the escrow company and they were very cooperative. I am so very appreciative of all the help sent here on TOTV. So looking forwards to living in TV‼️
