Alife, Italy

We will be travelling to Alife, Italy this Spring to research some family history. We would be interested in any recommendations on places to stay/ eat and any recommendations on transportation to and from Naples.

We visited relatives in Arce, Italy many times and it is between Cassino and Frosinone. It is about 21 miles from Cassino and Alife is about 39 miles from Cassino. It is a beautiful area and you may want to consider renting a car as driving in Italy is easier than the USA. If you are concerned about driving in Naple or Rome you may be able to rent one in Frosinone. There are mountains in the area where citizens ran to when the German's came through and then again to the mountains when the Americans chased the Germany out of Italy. They suffered a lot during the war. Montecassino is well worth the time to visit. We stayed with relatives and ate with them so not sure of places to stay or dine. All food is good in Italy. You may want to get a book and map on this area of Italy from Barnes and Noble. Have a great trip..:popcorn:
