Please post your photos of anything you find that is new or interesting in and around TV! Especially new construction, and amenities, events, etc. Put up whatever you think someone who is not there might like to see! Us wannabes who are stuck up North would all be very interested (Just no photos "in the buff"...please!). You know what they say about a picture being worth a thousand words! :icon_wink:

Credit for this idea goes to ajbrown who posted some great photos of the area to be developed south of 466A on his Profile Page.

If you live in TV, you probably are not expecting a delivery from the stork.

When we were down earlier this month though, we saw that a stork had made a delivery-- of twins, no less-- at Mallory Hill! Please don't call Deed Compliance to complain. These babies are so cute, you might just agree they can stay...

If there was someplace I could go to get the COMPLETE instructions on how to post a picture I would be glad to post some.

Kudos to you posters that have figured it out!!

I am not whining. I went to a couple of places and found bad links. Does someone have a link to the complete instructions as used today?

It would be greatly appreciated.

Those "storks" are actually Sandhill Cranes...very nice birds who mate for life (or at least seem to have long term relationships). Some migrate here from Canada, but the smart ones stay all year.

Z, I ran into the same problem. There are (were) some instructions in the FAQ that were incorrect. TH posted some instructions containing links, but I couldn't get the links to work.

I'm going to try to explain in my own words how I have posted photos on TOTV. The first thing you need to know is that you cannot upload pictures that are stored on your hard drive into TOTV. You need to upload them first to an online photo storage account.

1) Go to photobucket.com and sign up for a free account.

2) In the "My Home" tab of Photobucket, click on "Upload Images & Videos" (use Control key to select multiple photos to upload)

3) When the file(s) finishes uploading, you will be automatically taken to a page where you may add an "album" in which to store you photo(s) and give the photo(s) a title, description and tag. All of these choices are optional. You may do any and all of these things as you wish.

4) Double click on any photo to select it.

5) Place your mouse on the photo. This will make visible a menu of choices at the top of the photo.

6) Select the third menu item, "resize." This will bring up a drop down menu. Select the third choice "large (640 x 480)"

7) Optional: if you want to make any other edits to the photo, hit the second second menu item "edit" and you'll have all kinds of choices such as cropping, red eye reduction, rotating, etc.

8) When you are done resizing the photo and making any other optional edits, go to the left side of the screen and under the heading "Share this image" single click inside the box that is labeled IMG Code. When you click inside this box, a yellow box will appear that says "copied".

9) Now, go to the thread where you want to post the picture and hit "submit reply" (or start a new thread in the proper forum if you prefer).

10) Type in any intro comments and then drop down a line (enter key), right click and choose "paste". This will paste the code you copied in step 8. Now you won't see the photo, you will just see the code.

11) Optional: type a caption under the photo, if you would like.

12) Optional: hit "preview post" to see the actual photo instead of just the code.

13) Hit "sumit reply" and you're done. You did it! Congratulations!

Note: Whatever you do, do not skip step 6 or your photo will come out HUGE!

Z, if you are unable to get this to work, PM me with your phone number and I will call you and walk you through it step-by-step over the phone.

That makes sense. When we were golfing an Ambassador drove up to our cart to tell us about the family up ahead and to our right, so we would be sure not to miss seeing them. That was so nice! He said they were storks.

Thank you, PTurner, for your excellent description about how to post photos. I had no luck contacting the webmaster for instructions as he/she didn't answer my question, and the FAQ instructions are completely wrong. Again, thanks!!!!!

The photos you have all posted here are great! It almost makes you feel like you are really there. Thanks again to Pturner for providing the instructions!

Hopefully now others will be able to post even more pictures of what is currently happening in TV!

YO ALLEN, try this site: thevillagesdailyphoto.blogspot

Thanks also to mulligan for the above reference to some other great shots. Here is the complete link for anyone wanting to visit the recommended site:

Rather than post these wonderful pictures in a thread where they get buried, why not post them in the following that can be found on the top blue bar of the first page of TOTV:

Click on "Quick Links"; then click on "All Albums"

Posting the pics here will keep them more accessible than attempting to find a particular thread that will get lost in the forums....b

okay, PTurner...I'm going to give it a try.

This picture is one of the reasons my hub and I bought a place in TV. I just love walking the boardwalk in Lake Sumter Landing.

Here is one of the main reasons we are moving to TV. The caption I added didn't carry over, but they all were "Snow 2-6-10." I'm pretty sure the heat doesn't pile up like this.

This is my first attempt at posting a photo. If it works, my thanks to Pturner for her tutorial. If it doesn't work, back to the drawing board.
