I have read responses to my questions and the inquiries of others here on TOTV only to find myself more confused than when I started. I have done some research and found (what I think) is a road map to understanding more about how The Villages operates in reference to our desires to modify our property, yet protect the interest and investment of all our neighbors. Start with this site to understand who is in charge: http://www.districtgov.org/

Now you may wish to get a little more specific to your modification needs by reading this material: http://www.districtgov.org/departments/Community-Standards/images/compliance-standards/EXTERNAL-DEED-RESTRICTION-STANDARDS.pdf

Then if you are not lost, move on to this little gem so you can ask for what you want from the folks that can give you permission: http://www.districtgov.org/images/ARC_App2.pdf

Of course, you may not get permission, so then I would recommend you try this hat on: http://www.districtgov.org/departments/Community-Standards/images/compliance-standards/Application%20for%20ARC.pdf

If I were on the committee, the four items you mentioned would be the first four I would vote against. My Wife is from KY so I have witnessed everyone of them in person along the byways of the Blue Grass State. Not impressed with there specific designs. LOL.

This should be posted more often, I know we all got it or at least I did. I think it's a good thing and quite frankly that was one of the reasons we picked TV. Having come from anything goes Long Island this is a great place.
