Please try Dr. Jason DeLuca at the National Pain Institute here in TV - I had a terrible experience with Dr. Pinnamaneni at the Pain & Spine Clinic at Laurel - Worst treatment I have ever had, and I have 20 years experience with this sort of thing. Good Luck!

Our new doctor here has signs in his waiting room. Something to the effect, we will not be doing any pain management after January 1.

Anyone know why? I really am not clear what pain management is.

Anyone know why? I really am not clear what pain management is.Gracie, pain management is medical care that alleviates or reduces pain and it's considered extremely important because people that remain in severe pain often become agitated and/or depressed and wind up with less successrul treatment in many areas of health care.

My doctor up north has had me on hydrocodon for more that 5 years for a number of reasons and once I saw a doctor down here in TV I got a bit of a shock. The doctor told me that he will not perscribe that or any other pain medication because he will not risk any chance of being arrested or losing his license and that I'd probably find that the other doctors in the area are doing the same thing. He further told me that this is because of crack downs stemming from the Michael Jackson case and similar incidents of irresponsible perscribing of medication. He said he can refer me to a pain management doctor but I'm wondering just how long will it be before that and other pain management doctors will follow suit like with your doctor.

For now I decided to eliminate the usage except for an occasional one. I do have a decent supply of the medication and at the rate I'm using them should last me probably until the end of this year. In the mean time I'm trying to decide if I want to stay with the same primary doctor or make a change!

I use Dr. Panninamini (spelling is probably wrong) at 343-7246. I came to him with chronic back pain (common) and told him that I do not and will not take narcotic pain medication. He offered a different type of medication that is usually not used for back pain management. I was doubtful but tried it and was really amazed to find after a week or two how much relief it gave me. It didn’t completely solve the problem but it sure relieved it a lot. I appreciate a doctor who listens to me and offers creative solutions. Not many do.
