looking for anyone who knows about the no name service with an ad in our local paper.

I would think a better description would help. If it's no-name what do we we look for? Is it called "no-name" TV? I have to assume your "local paper" is Villages Happy News but your description is lacking unless you want us to read the whole paper before commenting. :D

It has all the earmarks of DISH network.

Call and ask them which service they are offering, then HANG UP, and then do your research. there have been lots of complaints about contracts, rates, etc with the satellite services.
