Doctor Recommendation

Unfortunately, my husband and I will be leaving the Villages Healthcare once we hit Medicare.

Can anyone recommend an Internist that is not in the Villages Healthcare system that they are happy with?

Check with your current internist, some of the VHS specialists are part of VHS, but also accept medicare, I know as i am NOT in VHS, but use a specialist typically at Pinellas health care facility.

You may want to consider the "Urgent Care" on 441 just beyond the cross roads of 42 and 441 as you will see a Dr there. If it is something that is serious, (e.g. Cancer, etc) then you may want to consider Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, which is 2 1/2 hour drive from The Villages. Mayo just voted #1 or 2 in the United States depending upon which survey you refer to. :ho:

My husband and I have been fortunate health wise so far but will need a primary care physician once we turn 65.
