I was waiting for the ever present progressive factions of this blog to do their usual castigation of anything you say and try to demean your message. I'm sure it'll come, in time, but I applaud your fortitude in posting and your sly ability to tweak them whenever possible.

Donna2-- I keep hoping the African-Americans will realize its the Democrats that are holding them back. The Republicans are the ones who helped LBJ pass the civil rights bills, in the 60's. Al Gore Sr., among others, was a big time segragationist.

Thanks Richie, There are many people here that are smarter then me. I just try to keep my head above water.
I think that most of the liberals that post here have lead a sheltered life, especially the academic types.
There are the smart books types
And there are the savvy types. I strive to be the later.

Sally Jo.

You pop up here too infrequently but I am always happy when I see your name.

Yes, I agree the the Democrat party has held the black population back and that is exactly the way they want it. It is a shame but the truth is slowly coming to light.

The lesson to be learned in the Obama election, despite the abject racism of birthers, is that we are finally moving closer to a nation in which all people ARE created equal. Skin color, sex, national origin (with the exception of Arizona) are becoming ever less important in who a candidate is, as opposed to the issues involved.

I'm a liberal, so I happen to believe that individuals are smart enough to sort out their issues as intelligent human beings. Unfortunately, when you see everything as either black and or white, as in "You're either with us or with the Terrorists" you will tend to miss the need for independent thought about complicated issues.

Only dittoheads and their ilk would see the rise of minority politicians of any party as being a "disaster" for the Dems or liberals. It's what we've fought for ever since you condemned the Civil Rights Act as a communist plot.

Would you do us a favor and define what a Liberal is. You claim to be one so you should not have any trouble doing that.

Wasn't it you who said something about silly name-calling?
You seem to have things backwards.

Liberal-progressives do not believe that individuals are smart enough to sort things out for themselves and want the populace to be dependent on government.
Conservatives believe in individual rights and the ability for each citizen to strive for success without government interference.
When a conservative black person does good and achieves success,
your ilk demeans them. Connie Rice was depicted as Aunt Jemima in liberal circles, yet affirmative action Obama is treated as a genius. Go figure. Justice Thomas is depicted as incompetent, yet race-baiting Al Sharpton is put on a pedestal. Go figure.

Arizona is just passing a law that is already on the books but not enforced by the feds.
What don't you understand about Illegal Immigrants?

Most people in Arizona are good people who have worked hard and obey the law all their lives. It is very disingenuous of you to say those things about the good people of Arizona.

You speak the language of paranoia and hatred. Your time has past and Dick Armey's teabag movement is the final act.

"Conservatives believe in individual rights and the ability for each citizen to strive for success without government interference."

So good to hear it when someone supports getting rid of "Don't Ask Don't Tell" and supports the right of two people of the same gender to marry. Let's hear it for those individual rights and striving for success (and I assume happiness). Or do we think it's ok for the government to trample other peoples' individual rights, just not mine?

:undecided: That's it? Demean a man and a movement? Most people in the Tea Party movement never heard of D. Armey , and don't know who he is.
You still don't get it, do you?

I know of many successful gay (homosexual) . As a matter of fact, I think I have read statistics about them having a higher then average income.
Don't ask, don't tell is a military law that is necessary and should not be mistaken for civilian protocol.

but it is not mine.

When you use pejorative words such as *********, birther or dittohead you reveal not only ignorance but intolerance towards your fellow American citizens.

The civil rights records of the two parties could not be more different. -
The Supreme Court under Earl Warren, a Republican, struck down the 'separate but equal' doctrine
.
When Governor Wallace, a democrat stood in the schoolhouse door, President Eisenhower, a Republican, sent in the troops to integrate the University of Alabama.

When the KKK and their like, with a distinguished Democrat leader, Robert Byrd of West Virginia, tried to terrorize the African American community, Eisenhower again sent in the troops and the justice department.

When LBJ, a Democrat, wanted civil rights legislation passed, it was the Democrats who tried to filibuster the bill only to lose to overwhelming Republican support.

The decision by an increasing by an increasing number of African-Americans means that they are moving from unquestioning support of the Democratic party and are starting to look at the facts. It is the Democrats that stand against school choice, the single most effective to break the cycle of poverty, and the Republicans who support it. One party is working for the good of the African-American community, the Republicans and the Democrats are working against it.

I look forward to the day when 'liberals' such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson can no longer play the race card.

Are you afraid to tell us what a Liberal is? Please define yourself.
You said you are a Liberal. What is a Liberal?

Cashman-- My definition of a liberal is someone who wants the government to take care of them from cradle to grave.

Wow, that was a great post. Articulated very well. It is shameful that real history is not repeated enough.

Do the words "Social Justice" mean anything to you PT? Can you see the storm clouds rising? Are we to give up our land just because our government cannot or will not protect it's boundaries? How many of our own home owner's and citizens must be gunned down over drugs and immigration? Do you support the race card being played continually? Does it trouble you that our president and his wife have never held jobs of any accomplishment? Questions, questions, questions, can you answer them PT, or just generalize as you usually do?
