Sometimes it gets a little contentious in political and we lose sight of what we can agree on. My cousin sent me this and I hope it passes muster as administered by the ever alert topic police in this forum. I believe your reaction will transcend politics....for a moment anyway.

God bless our troops.

My family is eagerly awaiting my nephews return from his 5th tour duty this time in Afghanistan. He is expected to leave the area sometime around May 25....his daughters are counting the days.

When he gets back his next trip is to TV for a family vacation including Disney.

Cologal--- I know how excited your family must be. Five tours is above and beyond the call of duty. I was fortunate enough to be in the Bangor, Maine airport, twice, when troops arrived. I can't tell you how moving an experience it was. God bless your nephew and all members of the armed forces.

I see this video in the past but it was just as good viewing it again today.

May our troops never again get the shameful greeting that was waiting for them from Vietnam.

Thanks for posting Cabo.

It is so uplifting to see prayers happily answered.

I pray for the others, and for us to learn how to avoid having to put so many in uniform.

reaction is the same each time...pride and happiness at it's best.

I am always amazed/amused by the absence of response when something like this is put up for comment.

To each his own but it does raise a question in my eyes about the "regulars" who elect to not post. Maybe it is just the undeniable reality that can't be absorbed.

Being a vietnam vet this clip is heart warming and I believe that this is what people back then really would rather have felt but politics just could not allow.
Thank you and god bless everyone who has and will serve.

I was working this week...Atlanta and New York so I haven't been on TOTV much. Thank you for the post...I to was lucky enough to be in CA when my nephew got home from his 4th tour and saw is youngest daughter for the first time. It was quite emotional. The funny thing was his oldest daughter, about 3 at the time, thought that anyone older than 50 should be called grandma..me being of that age...oh well. My sister was ok with it so we didn't correct her. My nephew knew about it but had never actually heard it so. There we were walking across the parking lot when she turns around and says come on Grandma. My nephew completely lost it...so funny. Neither he nor I ever thought that word would ever be used in reference to me.
