Has anyone had any luck finding a remote control and receiver that works with the Kichler ceiling fans used by the Villsges builders?
I ordered a universal remote kit on Amazon, but it won't work. Has anyone found a brand that will work?
Also, any advice on replacing the original wall switch with one for the fan and light would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you seoulbrooks. I saw that. I need the receiving u it to, that goes into the fan. I did find one, $100 bucks... that's 3 times the prices of other brands. Hoping to find a less expensive alternative.

In my designer home build in 2014, the fan switch is wired with 3-wire, so I added a light to the fan and a double switch and was done.

I've put in dozens of these (made by Lutron). Nice thing is they can dim the fan light and control the fan speed. You'll still need access to the ceiling fan canopy, to install the module. They're a very easy install.

I used the Kichler 371042MUL wall switch found in the Kichler catalog. Does not require the 3rd wire. Has the separate unit that mounts in the fan housing. Turns the fan light on and off, but does not dim the LED bulbs I installed. I see them for $50-55 on eBay

Lutron under the Caseta Line offers a solution. You replace the switch and add a remote. No access to the fan is required. https://www.amazon.com/Lutron-Wireless-Single-Pole-PD-FSQN-WH-Assistant/dp/B07P11NLB4

I added light kits and used the above mentioned RED wire for the lights and then replaced the original switch with a dual switch. One word of caution be sure the CIRCUIT BREAKER is turned off if you will be doing this your self. I helped a neighbor, and the RED wire was already connected to the HOT wire at the switches! This made for a surprise when we were working on the fan!

That's a newly added product by Lutron. Keep in mind access to a neutral wire is needed, and if you want to use an App to control it from your smartphone, you need the Lutron Bridge (which by the way is an awesome product).

No you don't need a bridge to have a switch and one remote.
You do need a bridge if you want voice control, phone control, or more than one remote. There is one exception, if you already have a Wink 2 bridge you do not need a lutron bridge to have any of these additional functions.

I never said you needed a Bridge, unless you wanted to control it by Lutron's app (Phone control). What is required, regardless, is access to a neutral wire. Maybe you misunderstood my post. In most cases a neutral wire is easy access, but I have seen many boxes (especially with four switches), where even trying to pigtail a neutral wire is next to impossible given the limited space.

I understood exactly what you were saying. The problem is over 99% of those who bother to read this far have zero compression on what a smart home is or a hub does. The question deals with a fan and a remote. You are overestimating this audience. You need to limit your comments to the question at hand.
