In Dec we will be taking a 14 day Holland America cruise out of Tampa. It would be rather pricey to park at the parking garage for 14 days and are looking for alternatives. Has anyone rented a car here in The Villages and then turned it in at the Port or perhaps the airport and taken a taxi to the port? How did this work for you. Is Enterprise our car rental?
We'll be taking Holland America's Ryndam. Can't wait!

We went on a cruise out of tampa and kept the car right at the hotel for a small deposit. They even took us to the port to get on the ship. Have a great time . We did.....

I'm pretty sure that Enterprise would be the ones to talk to, as they seem to always offer good one-way one-day rentals. I don't think they have a location specifically at the Tampa cruise terminal, but I'll bet there is a location closer than the airport.

And remember "they'll pick you up" should also apply to dropping you off.

Why not stop by their office on Lake Sumter Landing and talk to them?

14 days at $14 is $196. Surely two one-day rentals would be less. Sounds like a fun cruise. I sailed the Ryndam out of San Diego in November 2003. I think she's been refurbished since.

Check with AAA for bus trips to the port. Most cruise lines have regular bus transportation to the ports. Took a Celebrity cruise last month and took a bus booked through AAA to Fort Lauderdale $75 round trip per person.

Rental (Enterprise) was $99 one way to Tampa. Wow. Seems a little high..
