I have a home built in 2003 and several of the window springs are detached and the windows wont stay open and wont close properly. Is it worth the expense of repair vs replace? There's nothing else wrong with the windows. Anyone come to this crossroad and which way did you go? The latches have the initials cws on them.

My windows were fixed by Ace Window Repair - 8 windows had springs replaced $320 and $75 service charge.

You can also DIY. Did a whole bunch of them up north. Found a website that sells all the parts. Lots of info on Youtube. It's also possible they all need just to be adjusted/balanced. This was the company and they have just about everything you need for a DIY :SWISCO.com ~ The Replacement Hardware Authority (https://www.swisco.com)

I believe "CWS" is Custom Window Systems in Ocala. Maybe give them a call?

If you choose to replace them, because of hurricane code requirements, you will find yourself removing and replacing siding and drywall.

Awesome info, I will look into repairing myself. If it's above my paygrade I will call Ace. Anyone try repairing themselves?
