Looking to change companies for pest, lawn and termite services. I know there are good and bad services out there. Asking for your input as to who you feel is customer service friendly, reliable and competitive in pricing. Thanks in advance

Have used Massey for 12 years always good customer service and prompt response to any concerns you have

Massey. Pretty good, very responsive, but not cheap. By lawn, if you mean mowing, Massey is way too expensive. You have a lot of choices with lawn and pest services, but not as many for termites.

Finally found one, Green Smith Pest Control, Hoke Smith, hsmith@greensmithspestcontrol.com, (352) 303-0205. Small company, personalized service. Our neighborhood has been switching from Massey and Deans to either Green Smith or Orkin. Both seem to be better than just good. One drawback with Green Smith is they don't do termites so we have stayed with Deans for that service. Neither Green Smith or Orkin mow. We all use a different service for mowing, palm tree and shrub trimming.

It is a money maker for every specific task. It has been my experience that making money is more important than doing a good job. Very disappointed in the service provided by most lawn companies. Massey is excellent - but expensive.

Does Massey mow? Their website does not make it clear.

Massey does mow, edge, weed and prune at least in my area of Mallory Square, $130 per month for all services (up to 40 mows per year) was quoted to me I have an average sized lawn.

Yes, they mow. But, even some of the Massey salespeople will tell you to hire someone else because they charge about twice as much as most other mowing companies.

You might want to poll your neighbors to see who does the best work in the garden, then negotiate with them for a group discount if you all switch to them.

They would rather be working on a garden than driving between them, so being able to spend a whole morning in one area would be attractive to them.

Six of us use the same company, and they are very keen to keep us all happy!

I would shop around. I have a small yard, but only pay $40 per month. Massey is known to be very expensive.

Thank you for your concern, I choose not to go with Massey lawn care as I found it too expensive too.

Currently 5 of us use Showtime, 6 use Orkin and of course we all believe ours is the best....:)

There are good, bad & ugly reviews/stories on most of the providers in TV.

There are definitely some firms to avoid.

I've been with Fertigator for six years and are very happy.

But, there are probably bad stories out there about them as well.

The key is to check with your neighbors who have nice lawns.

Most people do not pay in advance.

Good Luck.

Dean's could have had my business, but they refused to waive their auto pay credit card policy. Massey got my business instead. Massey only bills me after they have completed some work.

Deans have always billed us AFTER each service.

That's interesting. When they gave me a quote, they told me that the only way I could pay was to provide a credit card that they could charge monthly as needed. I even called the manager, and he said the same thing. No flexibility. I told him I would hire another company. He didn't seem to care.

I just called Dean's and was told that, as of the beginning of 2017, all new customers must provide a credit or debit card for them to charge for services they perform. Again, no flexibility.
