Don't know about turtle preserve. There are driving ranges, one at Lopez, Palmer, Glenview, and one across 466A at Morse Blvd.

There is a "gopher turtle" preserve right along the intersection of Bailey Trail and Buena Vista. Not sure what they are, but I have read the signs on the fence around it.

There is a tortoise preserve behind a home we've rented several times. It is in Santo Domingo off of Morse and Madero Drive. I believe they are Gopher Tortoises.

All of the preserves are open spaces for wildlife -- not people or pets. See
http://www.districtgov.org/PdfUpload/WildlifeInformation.pdf (http://www.districtgov.org/PdfUpload/WildlifeInformation.pdf)
and the front section of the phone book. If it has a black board fence around it, you know you're not supposed to go in, even if it looks like a park.

We've been to all golf ranges in TV and by far the best is Buffalo Junction behind the Walmart on 466...new balls, nice chipping area, everyone is so nice, owned by Patrick Lahey (sp?) and family.
