Hi! I'm Laura.
I am new in town and need to buy a refrigerator.
Where can I go for a good selection?

I would go to Lowe's. They have there own employees and truck to deliver and install. Home Depot and others may not. Also, they have a 30 day return policy.

After extensive research online, for our fridge with in a 50 mile radius.
We purchased ours from Lowe’s. The model I wanted was less by $400. They do have their own delivery guys, which I met when I purchased, delivered in 2 days, took old one away. Cleaned up all packing and the floor where old fridge water ran out. Very happy with the appliance department.

I bought a new stainless LG refrigerator 18 months ago from Best Buy along with stove, dishwater, microwave hood and a few months earlier an LG top loading glass door washer and matching glass door dryer.

First, I went onto Lowe's, Home Depot, Amazon and Best Buy websites and read reviews for a whole day. I found LG was excellent, but what brand and model to buy is up to you.

Where to buy? Lowes has their own trucks but deliver from the store of purchase. So you might have your heart set on a certain refrigerator only to find out the two closest stores are out of stock. Best Buy has a central warehouse outside of Orlando and virtually everything on their website or in the store is in stock. Also Best Buy will negotiate like a car dealer. First, I said I want the 10% veteran discount like Lowe's, they called over the store manager and he said, no problem. I got free delivery and a $100 store card plus the prices were lower than HD and Lowes, that's on the washer and dryer. On the entire kitchen I got about $500 off because I bought the whole group and these weren't advertised like the newspaper, but what I had selected from the website. With a single refrigerator, they be a little less inclined to negotiate, but try and go in a weekday when they're slow, and try and get the store manager. I went back a couple of months later and bought a 75" Samsung LED 4K smart TV for $1500 floor model that was selling for $2300. Again, I got the manager.

We are happy with our Samsung refrigerator purchased last summer from BestBuy . Even though the delivery guys were contractors, they were excellent!!! We bought a washer and dryer recently from Lowes, and again all went well and delivery was flawless. They would be my choices for appliance shopping. Good luck! !!

Best Buy is a good choice. Make sure your measurements are correct. Think about counter depth too.

Bought all my kitchen appliances from Best Buy,
they had very good selection, and pricing was better than others!

Bought at Best Buy and true to their name it was the best buy, went everywhere. Also checked on-line and surprisingly enough, the refrig. we bought was not the top seller but we love it. It was the last one and has MORE storage than any refrig. we have ever had. We've owned subzero, ge, lg, and samsung.
Very happy.

We recommend Lowe’s also. We purchased three different appliances from them, cannot tell you enough how satisfied we were with the process.

It’s our go to place now for all appliances.

You bring up a good point. I knew the fit would be tight and didn't want to make the final call. Best Buy sent out a very knowledgeable person Jessica. She measured, advised me to remove one piece of wall trim near the floor and voila, it fit like a glove. It didn't cost anything for her to come out.

Has anyone bought appliances from Costco? How’d that work out?

What brand did you get?

Big box stores are not always competitive. Currently, the big box stores serve best as a showcase. Find what you like in the biggest box store you can find and get the price and model number. Then google that brand / model number and find an internet site that offers a better price and possibly no sales tax or shipping cost.

Your biggest chore is to determine the size, brand, model style and finish you want. Consumer Reports can assist as to best quality.

We bought a Samsung French door (3 Doors) stainless several years ago that was about $2200 locally on sale. Got the same model from internet for $300 less plus no sales tax or delivery charge. Did not pay for setup but did ask for delivery indoors as opposed to curbside.

I used Appliance Direct in Fruitland Park. Good prices and same day delivery if you go early enough. Can order online if you know what model you want.

When I bought my last refrigerator (from Lowe's), they delivered and set up...which is why I chose to go local.

The nice part was they took the one in the kitchen out to the garage and took the one already in the garage away...which was perfect.

Can order online if you know what model you want.I would NEVER recommend buying anything from them. 7 weeks of eating for a microwave to arrive after they told me it would be there in 3 days. I had to call them anytime I wanted an update. Then they wouldn't waive the 98.00 install fee as a comp for my wait. Told them I would be in that afternoon for refund. POOR POOR CUSTOMER CARE! OR, LACK THERE OF!
