Public Transportation in The Villages

What are the options for public transportation in The Villages?

I'm aware of the self driving vehicle experiment.

I noticed some shuttle buses around but am not aware where/who they serve?

During my Lifestyles stay, there was a less active senior lady unable to manage a golf car who had difficulty even getting a cab or Uber.

What do residents/visitors who are no longer able to drive do?

Some bus transportation is offered by Sumter County. I haven't used it and I don't know anyone who has used it. All I can do is provide these links:

For people that aren't " smart phone" proficient they can put this service on speed dial, tell the dispatcher the address they are at and address they want to go to....not a free service but less expensive than a taxi and less of a waiting time for a ride
