Our home is 14 years old and I needed 2 permits, one for a flag pole and another for awnings. To get these permits, I needed 2 copies of our site plan from the office near the sheriff's office at the corner of 466 and Morse. Went there today and found out that they "purge" all site plans for homes over ten years old. So, no site plan.

Fortunately, when we bought our home last December, we had a survey to make sure the pool was properly placed on our lot. The permit office made 2 copies of the survey, so I was able to file for the permits.

Takes me a long time to say it, but it might be worth while to have a site plan to store with your papers on their home and pass them on when you sell.

I don't know if I could have filed without the survey. Probably could have, but the survey, or site plan, helped.

Thanks for that info. The Villages gave us one when we signed to build. I will have to make sure to guard it with my life. Well, kinda.

When I submitted my first request to the architectural review board I made about 10 copies of the site plan in case I need to submit another request. I used about 5 of them up in the first year.
