View Full Version : carraba's
Mr. Mac9 and I had dinner tonite with friends at Carraba's. Mr. had lasagna and chicken parm combo. He did not care at all for the sauce. When, Tina, our server, noticed that he wasn't eating, she immediately asked what the problem was. He told her that he thought the sauce was too bland. she immediately whisked it away and asked him what else he would like. She brought him an entirely different meal and removed the cost of his first meal. Because of the "inconvenience," she treated him to a dessert.
If you ever go to Carraba's, ask for a table with Tina. The manager even came over to apologize for the meal. We made sure that he knew what a gem of a server that he had in Tina. We also left a 25% tip as we were so impressed with her!

We had a similar experience last fall on our last preview visit. We are here now full time and one of the first places we went to was Carrabas. We again had a splendid dining experience, not returning a single thing this time believe me, and the food and service was absolutely superior. We were back close to the kitchen where the waiitresses transit regularily, and our waitress was "johnny on the spot" every second and any waitress that can stay ahead of me on refilling my Diet Coke gets the big reward when i cash out. The minestroni was absolutely the finest either of us ever tasted. We'll return for the soup as well as their main entrees. We are in the middle of trying new places since our arrival and Carrabas remains at the top of the list, but otherwise we have not been disappointed anywhere else either.
If only Glenview would respond as well! (See other thread.)

WOW! What a positive report on Carrabas. That place has been on our list of restaurants to try. Thank you! Your kindness back to Tina who really "took care of you" is moving. I love this post. :icon_hungry: I'm ready to dig in!

:thumbup:I've never had a bad meal or unpleasant experience at any of the Carrabba's Restaurants I've tried. We especially enjoy sitting up at the kitchen bar, watching the show and chatting with the chefs. Always makes for a fun evening!

As the original post, I had an entree I didn't care for and they gladly refunded. We continue to frequent Carraba's and contine to be very satisfied. Their minestrone is absolutely superior, so much that my wife has changed her regular trip to a Italian Restaurant chain that specializes in soup and salad. We continue our quest of new places to eat however, and our first post-villages move budget adjustment was to allow for more "we're eating out tonight" activities.

Husband and I gave Carrabas a try. I was very excited to try it. Garlic aromas floating all over the place and a lively Italian atmosphere. We will not be back, sad to say. Everything was very good, but VERY salty in literally everything we ordered. The house wine was more expensive than I would generally pay. $6.50/glass. I'm not putting Carrabas down, but the salt was intense in everything we ordered and doesn't suit us for future visits. I prefer Olive Garden or Red Sauce if given a choice.
