Hero 9/11 first responder with cancer dies at 53; testified to Congress with Jon Stewart | Fox News (https://www.foxnews.com/us/hero-9-11-first-responder-dies-53-congress-jon-stewart?fbclid=IwAR2kngwT5iXaBMyqWZEgMH-QLfZrUMrnLgVletq2kVeeuQ9qx12xzY5dugE)

Quite a sad state of affairs.

He was an incredibly brave man. I watched him addressing congress or was it the Senate and every word was obviously painful for him. Now, I just hope they have signed the lasting health care support for 9/11 responders.

Double ditto.

And he passes away only a couple of weeks after testifying, meaning that he did it for others...as it was too late for himself. :(

When I read of people like this man, I get so humble and wonder how I would have reacted. What he and others did on that day required bravery on a level beyond. When I think of 9/11 and D day I especially feel this way.

Gods speed Luis Alvarez. A safe journey home and to peace. Your journey is now complete.
