Bill Maher's, one of the darlings of the left-wing, gave a monologue he thought funny, which contains a vile stereotypical, profane and obscene take on his wish that Obama would act more like he thought a black President would act in the face of the oil spill crisis.

Will HBO face sanctions?; will Bill Maher be fired? ........yeah right

Here is the link to the video of this lame attempt at humor.

(WARNING; this is a HBO cable show with foul language, so don't view if easily offended)

Just some information about who you are dealing with when you talk about Bill Maher. Bill Maher is on the advisory board of Project Reason (also on PETA's board). Obama is a friend of Project Reason. Obama allowed and encouraged the first-ever meeting of the White House with atheists groups endorsed by Project Reason.

Maher and his ilk are such crtitical and deep thinking intellectuals maybe I just don't understand the true meaning of his racist comments or how he gets a pass.

From Project Reason's website: "Project Reason (spreading science and secular values) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation devoted to spreading scientific knowledge and secular values in society. The foundation draws on the talents of prominent and creative thinkers in a wide range of disciplines to encourage critical thinking and erode the influence of dogmatism, superstition, and bigotry in our world.

"While the foundation is devoted to fostering critical thinking generally, we believe that religious ideas require a special focus. Both science and the arts are built upon cultures of vigorous self-criticism; religious discourse is not. As a result, religious dogmatism still reigns unchallenged in almost every society on earth—dividing humanity from itself, inflaming conflict, preventing wise public policy, and diverting scarce resources. One of the primary goals of Project Reason is to change this increasingly unhealthy status quo."

This is also from Project Reason. They link to a video of Obama which shows, in their words, "Democracy demands that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal rather than religion specific values…it requires that their proposals be subject to argument and amenable to reason.
"Noting the conditions of a pluralistic society, he discusses the concessions (as those who believe in the inerrancy of the Bible would have to do in debating laws that run opposed to the tenants of the scripture) of differing faiths and those of non-faith must agree to make in order to uphold the proper processing of a democratic society."

Let Glen Beck make a comment like the one Bill Maher made and see what happens, it would end up on the front page in all the news papers.

himself to some politically credible spokesperson.
He dwells in controversy and that is all it takes for the media to lend credence.

He is better known as a jerk with a smart alec mouth.

I'm a Bill Maher fan but I find him slipping increasingly into more 'mean spirited' jabs in his humor. While I may agree with him on many areas, *in principle*, his 'style' is becoming increasingly harsh. Looking at his movie "Religioulous" will give a good example of what I'm talking about.
