International Energy Savers (IES) tinted our windows several weeks ago. They came right on time, finished quickly and were very professional. The installer told us that if we see bubbles, they should disappear as the film "cures" on the window, but to call them if we had any problems.
A portion of the film in the corner of one of the windows began to lift, so I called IES. They sent out the same installer right away. At first he just corrected the little area, but then told me that he accidently scratched the film and would replace the entire window film. I looked at this miniscule scratch and told him not to worry about it.
But, he said it would bother him! So he replaced the entire window film in just a few minutes and was on his way.
We are so impressed with IES. And we LOVE our windows now. We used to keep the blinds closed during the hot part of the day, but now we leave them open and enjoy the scenery without feeling the heat traveling though the glass.

Thanks for the info K-9. I need to do something with our windows but I'm worried that it will darken the rooms. We did have a company give us an estimate and I'm still procrastinating. I would appreciate knowing if you feel that it has darkened your rooms and if not do you know what the percentage of filter (films) you purchased. Thanks

I am also interested in adding window film. I have an east west exposure so I am getting a lot of sun all day long. I need to close my blinds a good portion of the day to reduce the heat of the sun. Was this an expensive project??

IES tinted two sliders and 5 windows. One of the windows was in our garage and boy did it cut the temperature in there. They use Vista window film rather than 3M. When I told Saul (the owner) that I heard 3M was the best, he said that Vista is the best and that he could use 3M, but chose to use Vista instead. Vista's website is: www.vista-films.com .
On three windows that get afternoon or morning sun we used the next-to-the-darkest tint (V18, which is 20% light transmitted), in the kitchen we used a lighter tint to let in more light (V38, 37% light transmitted) and on the sliders we used a medium tint (V28 which is 28% light transmitted). It does cut down on some of the light, but not so much that you miss it. I guess you could say it cuts out the bright glare. Sunshine still comes in the windows and is still as cheerful, but you don't feel any heat. All together it cost $825. The cost is calculated by the size of the windows/sliders, and it doesn't cost more for a lighter or darker tint.
You can't tell there is tint on the windows until you go outside! We already can feel the difference in the mid-day temp in our home, and the a/c doesn't run as much. We consider the window tinting one of the best decisions we've made for our new home. IES has a website, too: www.ieswindowfilms.com .

IES just did our home. Great job, easy to deal with, polite, efficient, professional, highly recommend. Upon arrival to install, the installer pointed out that 2 of our windows had already been tinted by previous owner. He issued a credit to our credit card on the spot by calling his office. Would use again if needed.
