Get ready for crowds/traffic/noise next Tuesday here in TV...
President Trump is making another visit to Central Florida.
A White House official said Trump will hold an event at The Villages on Tuesday, Aug. 6, focused on Medicare.
The official White House event comes seven weeks after Trump kicked off his 2020 campaign at the Amway Center in Orlando, highlighting the importance of Florida to his re-election.
The Villages, a massive age-restricted community in northeast Lake, south Marion and east Sumter counties, is peak Trump territory, with Sumter County providing the president with 68% of its votes in 2016. The group “Villagers for Trump” has also held parades of golf carts in support of him.
Trump hasn’t visited the community as a candidate or as president, though Vice President Mike Pence made an appearance in 2016.

Is there a venue large enough for this visit?

The topic is a presidential visit to The Villages. So far, many off topic, political and personally directed posts have been removed.
We'll give you a little more time to see if you can address the topic of a Villages visit...or, inevitably, the thread will be closed.

No venue stated in this morning's paper.
And stated "...by invitation only...".
So most of us will just read about it.....I do not "heard" well and usually avoid crush crowds, so I will wait for the video which no doubt will follow soon after.

I think that they'll probably have him helicopter directly from West Palm to the Morse compound. Otherwise they'd have to close roads AND multi-modal paths that run along side them, for security reasons. It'd be chaos, especially since both major north/south arteries are undergoing repairs now.

Will land in Gainesville then take chopper to The Villages. Will land on the polo grounds and then take limo to The Sharon for closed door event. Bye......

Article indicated he will be talking about Medicare, no mention of his picking up checks.

We are Adults, No? Either Party that sends their Main Person to our Home Should be greeted Properly. Different Candidates over the years have landed in The Villages. They should ALL be made to feel welcome. We are recognized as an important place to Campaign at by Different Candidates from both Major Parties. Act Appropriately so one day the story isn't changed to remember when they did stop by The Villages.

No matter your party, or whether you like him or not, it’s very exciting to have a President visit the Villages.

Very nicely said. I felt the same way when V.P. Pence's motorcade went down 466 near where we live.
No matter the politics. This is the leader of the Free World and one should respect the office and the event.
In my long life I have voted both parties, and agreed and disagreed with both parties. Some people are more easy to understand and to like than others, but they are still the President of the United States of America.

I will be listening very closely to what all presidental candidates have to say about what I see is the most important issue facing our country from the perspective of a 60+ year old citizen. That is, how are they going to stop the out of control budget deficit and corresponding national debt without gutting Medicare and Social Security that is owed to American Citizens who have been paying into the systems for their entire working lives and will be depending on these programs for a comfortable retirement. So far, if have not heard anything compelling from any candidate, from either party. Let's hope our sitting Presidents visit to the Villages will shed some light on this most important subject.

Best post I have read in months. ANY President of our great country visiting here is an honor for The Villages. I would think The Villages benefits from such positive exposure. Even if you personally do not align your views with the current administration, one should always respect the office.
As President Reagan said, our country is the "last best hope for the world". The Villages is indeed one of the best places in the best country in the world. We all have reasons to be very thankful.
