Hello all,
We have recently purchased a home in St. Charles. I have researched the contractors that have favorable reviews om TOTV. I have recently used Tim The Toolman for attic attic stairs and garage floor epoxy coating, White's Alum to enclose our lanai with glass windows and Rick at 48 hours blinds, all on schedule, on budget and very professional. We also used Hill's for gutters in Feb. who was also good. Thanks to all for sharing your opinions on the above contractors. This is a great site and it helps new people when selecting contractors. Although we are only in TV for short periods of time, we love it.

I see this is your first post, so welcome to TV and TOTV. Thanks for sharing information about the contractors you used.
All best wishes!

Hi Lou and Candy.... Congrats on the new home. We just purchased a home in St. Charles too, in late May. We purchased a Bridgeport on Duchess Loop, golf course side...used to be a model home.
Maybe we're neighbors ??? :)
Thanks for the post on contractors, since we need to do some of the same things in the near future.

Thanks Pturner and Memason,
We purchased on Foggy Brook Loop so I guess we are very close to you, the neighborhood should be nearly finished in the next few months which will make it nice and quiet. We just returned to New Jersey and can not wait until we return in late October or November. Golfing and swimming seem to be much more enjoyable in TV then in NJ. Congratulations to you on your recent buy in TV.

Glad to see those contractors did a good job for you. Tim Miller "the Tool Man" is a real good cat, he will do just about anything for you. I have personally known him for awhile now. If he can not do it, he will lead you to someone who can most of the time. I also used Hills and 48 Hour Blinds. One thing is for sure, this site will let you know who to use and not to use.

If you are looking for someone to do crown molding, I have a great source.
Peter Sammons of Creative Homeworks, LLC He has done many, many homes in TV and has proved himself to be reliable and trustworthy as well as doing very fine trim work. 904-484-7248. Things are slow now, so he should be available.

Does "Tim the Toolman" perhaps do minor carpentry (need broken drawer replaced in master bath) and we also need to have the sliding doors replaced on our master bedroom closet.

Don't if Tim does this kind of work, but I'm pretty sure Alan Byer does. He's really a good guy, lives in TV, reliable and reasonable. You can reach him at 205-7504.

I would give Tim a call, he can do most anything. Or you can try Mike Hogan. I will have to look his number up.

I've had Hill's do our gutters on the back of the house. Great job, quick and good price. They apparently also do window conversions in lanais. I haven't been able to see if anyone has had Hill's do a lanai window or even acrylic window conversion of a lanai. Anyone have any experience with them doing such work?

I also used Hill's for my gutters. My sister used them to do windows on her lanai. She was extremely pleased with their work. I am not sure if they were glass or acrylic and she also only did an exposed end where the wind would constantly blow through.
