I would encourage everyone who is interested in trash recycling in The Villages to please attend the August 22nd meeting. As recycling costs are increasing dramatically, NSCUDD is looking at all options to help develop a Solid Waste Management Plan. Your input is solicited at this meeting to help judge public opinion on different paths to the future. In other words, what are your cost/pain/sensitivity thresholds?

Attended the presentation and workshop. It was very informative and will hopefully help in the future decisions to the betterment of The Villages in the future. It is sad that when this issue first surfaced in multiple media sites that there was a huge outcry with all kinds of comments about this being another way for The Villages to get over on residents along with a ton of other negativity. Now people have the opportunity to get real information and have their voices heard but barely 100 people show up. Again it is proof that people just want to gripe and not take action and responsibility in todays society.:ohdear:

In 2019, NSCUDD assessed "a one-time increase on October 1, 2019 of 8.25% (a monthly increase of $1.48) annual sanitation rate increase for a one year period of time from October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020, and then nine consecutive annual increases of 2.5% thereafter. This annual rate adjustment will provide sufficient revenue to maintain adequate working capital and fund additional renewal and replacement reserves".

Please attend this special workshop on Friday, March 27 at 9:00 a.m. at the SeaBreeze Recreational Center to review and discuss a new sanitation rate increase that will show on your monthly sanitation collection bill this year.
