I remember I was 16 and working at a McDonald's in Binghamton NY. We got slammed that weekend and I asked where all these young people were coming from. All I knew at the time was that they were at or going to Woodstock. I had no idea what that was. They said it was an arts and music festival down near NYC. Then, when the movie came out I saw what it was that I missed. How about you ?

1969. Still in Wisconsin up through December when we moved to Reno, Nevada after a few weeks in Apache Junction, AZ.

Cannot remember much about Woodstock. I was 10 then.

I was 23, just finished my first year as a teacher/coach, married with a one year old daughter. I read all about it and thought they must be insane!

I was 8, almost 9, living in Iowa. My parents didn't let me go. . . I wonder why. Darn it. :)

I was living out of the country and couldn't get too much information in English about Woodstock.
Still and all, I thought I was missing something and wished I had been there.
In retrospect, I'm glad I wasn't!

Mud, rain and no where decent to do one's business and most could not see the people performing according to personal accounts in The Villages Daily Sun. Did see a Villager who was at Woodstock in the 2000s to 2011 or so as she used to work at the Lady Lake Blockbuster and I would go there a few times a week. She had talked about being there.

We drove to the crazy place Was about 45 minutes from our house. It was packed. Had to leave the car by the side of the road, walked in the mud and then it took about 2 hours to leave as the road was blocked, When we moved away the the real Woodstock Village still had young and old hippie's coming up from NY City by bus on weekends, they sat in a small triangle square in the center and the "Flea Markets" sold any kind of Drug equipment you would want. I am good friends with the Golf Pro at the Woodstock CC golf course and have a BB Cap which says "Golf in Peace..Woodstock" He designed it and it is the only place you can buy it.:ho:

I was 19 working during the summer at Billy's Famous Subs on the boardwalk in Ocean City, Maryland. We had 200,000 people in a town of normally 1,000. I didn't know anything about Woodstock, we had no TV because Baltimore was 150 miles away and cable did not exist and we had one radio station.

I was 27, in law school at Georgetown and working as a Patent Examiner at the USPTO in Arlington, VA. A few fellow male law school students I knew at work were going and asked me if I wanted to go with them but I was married and had never had any interest in "Druggie-Hippy" music anyway. Four or five of them went and ended up stuck on a muddy road in the rain far from the performance.

A lady lawyer friend of mine from the same era actually has two original Woodstock tickets framed and hanging on her wall. I imagine they are worth some coin to some people.

Haven't some of the performers died of drug overdoses or lifestyle related causes over years? Woodstock Obituaries: Performers Who Have Passed Since Woodstock '69 | The Real Woodstock Story (http://www.woodstockstory.com/woodstock1969obituaries.html)

So many parents in our neighborhood were upset because many of the older kids went in a dumpy VW Bus with a guy who looked like the stereotypical kid of that time in a VW Bus. They all made it back and never really spoke about it in front of us. I do remember the Bus, it was ripped up when they got home.

I was 16 and I was there with 3 of my best friends and we had a great time. The music was awesome and the mud was plentiful.

Those three were killed in a traffic accident 2 years later. The only reason I wasn't in that car was because it was Christmas Eve and I was at Mass.

Lived and worked in Manhattan at that time. There were signs everywhere about Woodstock. It was two weeks before my wedding. I had a part share in a house on Fire Island that weekend with friends, so we went there. It was an exciting summer.

Ft Riley, Kansas. I missed the whole thing until some of the other Lieutenants brought recordings to a party one night. Great music!

Not realizing how big this would be, my girlfriend and I went up there 2 weeks before to find a motel to stay at. Luckily, we didn't find one. I would have died trying to live in those conditions no matter how great the music was. Still don't regret it.

Second year of college in Pennsylvania, had too many other things going on, but several friends went or attempted to get to Woodstock. Just watched the news in amazement of the size.

Woodstock wasn't very publicized in the Chicago area. Maybe more of an East Coast word of mouth event. When I saw it in a downtown theater when the movie was first released I realized the opportunity I missed.

It was the summer after I graduated high school. I went with two friends in a VW bus. What great music and quite an experience.
