Why are you limiting to an electric cart? The new Yamaha quietech are very quiet, we just got one and were very impressed, and the will probably be easier to find.

I want to compare them by renting for a few weeks or a month each. I know I can rent ICE carts everywhere, but haven't been able to find electric for rent yet.

(This is more doing due diligence, since my wife thinks a Yaris would fit our life style better and not be that much more :) )

OK, now I understand, if you do a search on this site you will get lots of pros and cons on gas and electric. IMHO, The villages is now so large that an electric cart may not be suitable, unless it is fully charged everyday. Good luck with your quest.

Just thought of one point, if you find one to rent, ask about the age of the batteries, you might be getting on with 3 or 4 year old batteries that might be very limited in charge capability, and would give you very disappointing results.

Good points. I just purchased a new Sirus electric to replace my old Star electric. We do plug it in every night so fully charged in the AM. Range has been consistently 30 - 60 miles. The 30 mile range is after approx 4 years which is when we replace the batteries. I also purchased the Sirus with maintenance free batteries and an onboard charger. I will carry the cord in the cart in the event I do something stupid and need to borrow some electric on the way (hasn't happened in 5 years). There are some firms that rent electrics but they run them into the ground (they do the same with gas) so trying to judge how electric will fit your lifestyle may be difficult through a rental.
