Do you think a gal from NY with no driving experience can get around safely in a golf cart? My husband and I have friends in TV and on our last trip they took us around and I realized that I would have to be in regular traffic at some point with the cart...:22yikes: I could see the nervous look on my hubbies face when he realized this but I am determined to be finally independent...... Thanks....

Attend one of the safety meetings held on a regular basis and just pay attention and obey the traffic regulations. No reason why you can;t drive around safely.

I am also from NYC and never got a drivers license. It took me about a month to get used to driving in traffic. Now it comes so natural I can't figure out why I was so afraid. I thought if all these people who are 20-30 years older than me doing it, why can't I. You'll be fine and you will love the freedom it gives you.

Once u get over the initial fear of the cart, it will become duck soup. Don't exceed the 19.9 speed limit as the fine is very costly and make sure u stop at all stop signs. If u r getting a road ready cart, I wud recommend that u only use the cart paths until u feel comfortable driving. After a short period of time driving the cart will become second nature.

My unsolicited advice:

Always watch out for the other guy! Without exception, he is dangerous!
