We have heard it is a good idea to ask your neighbors, and try to work together so all/most use the same person/company. That way you may get a deal, and it is likely the entire neighborhood will be done on the same day, reducing down the number of days someone's yard is being mowed (noise).

It's also nice when the look of one house after the other is uniform because everyone's grass has been cut at the same time.
