It is almost time for us

My wife and I are visiting the Villages the first week of August. After making a one day visit earlier this year, doing a lot or research and talking to several people that live there, we pretty much know that TV is the place for us. We have just sold our house in NJ and will close on July 16 so the Aug. visit will probably end in a home purchase. We have 2 questions that we are sure TOTV can help with:

With regards to pre-owned homes, can you give us any insight as to the difference between the ones listed by TV and the ones by outside realtors?

We will be bringing our boat (22 ft. pontoon) and will be looking for a boat slip on Lake Griffin. Any marina recommendations?

Home sellers in TV choose whether to list their home with the TV Sales Office, an MLS Realtor, or just to sell it themselves (i.e., for sale by owner). There is nothing about the re-sale homes themselves that determine whether they are listed with the TV sales office or with an MLS Realtor.

To make sure you see all the listings available, use both a TV Sales person and an MLS Realtor.

You could also check some for-sale-by-owner Open Houses, although it's a more cumbersome search.

i like it because of the info it gives re the number of days the house has been on the market, the pix and the video tour...it is just the mls listings and not the villages listings.
