Here is a recent article from The American Thinker that sheds a little light on the enigma that is President Barack Hussein Obama.

We've had many discussions on this blog about what the President does or doesn't do; what he says or doesn't say; what is his or not his fault.

This article by Steve McCann puts a lot of these concerns in a new arena. I was amazed at his take on our President as it shed some light on his motivations and mindset.

The free world is getting antsy at the accelerated collapse of this once great nation and is pointing to our President's lack of leadership.

RICHIE...that is agreat article and thanks for the link !!!

I just ONCE for those few who post on here and seem to support all this man does to just say WHY.....not talk about Bush, but about the lies and the deception. Is this what they voted for and believe in ?

He IS right about his legacy...we will be struggling with his back room conceived, blackmail driven, ill fated health bill not only in the federal government but also the states for many many years to come !

He IS what I said he was even before he got the nomination and how he is still even at 44% approval is simply amazing to me

does not have the power of being king and that just because he is "the President" (as he continually feels need to remind us) he has found that is not enough to "make it so" here in America.

Thanx for the article. It is just one of many that confirms Obama's lack of leadership and the mess that usually wallows around non leader types.

That is why there is so much use of the term...WH....by Gibbs, the media et al.
It allows Obama to stay above the fray....he thinks....11/2012...will be his final report card. Hopefully the congress and senate make up will be drastically purged before then to mitigate maximum damage created in the mean time.

As you requested I did read this article.....so my first problem is the use of the word....sycophants. Had to look it up the first time I saw it used here. Kinda sets the tone of the article not in a good way.

But what really got me was this:

The oil spill in the Gulf was allowed to spread with no plan, central authority, or leadership in place to prevent its destruction of the Gulf coast.

That is just Repub bulls**t. The fact is that BP had submitted a plan that they could handle a spill of a certain size to get the permit to drill. In point of fact they couldn't handle a spill of any size. The government has had a point man Tad Allen down there all a long. The author fails to mention that BP lied about the amount of oil and provided a false picture to prove it. Not until the Feds forced them did we actually see the real amount of oil.

American weakness and lack of resolve has sent a signal and emboldened our enemies to press their hegemonic strategy throughout the globe and to attack our allies, such as Israel.

Again been hearing this for years in different forms. Remember this is the guy that has killed more Taliban and terrorists with drones than the last admin ever thought about doing. And now even some here on the forum are complaining his is using to many drones. Putting troops in the Middle East and building bases in Saudi Arabia sure ****ed off the people who want to attack Israel. Clinton worked at the peace process and the last administration didn't do a thing. So this point is pretty funny.

I do think that this President thinks to much...I'll bet if they did a profile on him right brain vs left brain he would end up in the middle. Unfortunately, that is not a good thing.

Wonder why she did not address the main thrust of the article, ie., the lack of leadership. These comments would indicate that she is convinced that one party and one party alone is the salvation of the country and the world !

Getting sharp though...never mentioned Bush as usual...but did mention the "last admin" a few times !

PS: I will compliment you however on your consistincy...never wavering support of this President. Why I dont know nor do you explain but you are very very consistent on that support and blaming Bush for anything and everything !

Perhaps you missed the last sentence....probably because you wanted to once again jump on my one party status as if you don't represent the same. I voted for a Repub in the last election did you vote for a Democrat? I think not.

I blamed Bush for nothing in this post so you lose on this one.

Wasn't it the Obama administration that give that particular rig a safety award just last year?

Deep water drilling in itself is a risky process but one that has been pretty much mandated by the left and environmental wackos.

A rig closer to the coast would have had the safety valve above water level instead of a mile down.

If they'd let us drill in places like Alaska we won't have these problems in the first place.

The fact is that BP had submitted a plan that they could handle a spill of a certain size to get the permit to drill.

Wonder if anyone actually read it? Nah.

Oh I got confused when you referred to the "last admin" a few times....gee how could I ?

And you just dont get it...I think, not sure actually, but I think I may have voted for more democrats this past November in total...certainly not for President but in total !

You only know my politics since the primary.....and YES I have criticized this man Obama BEFORE the nomination because he has never run anything even on the scale of a lemonade stand.....he is nothing but a pretty talking politiciaan who has NEVER IN HIS LIFE solved a problem. His not, and never had been even remotely qualifed for Senator yet alone President of the United States.

The sad fact is: Obama should never had been elected President.

The sadder fact is: Americans will have to pay the price for electing Obama long after he is gone.

BP would much rather drill at 500 feet than 5000 if permitted to by the government which is cowed by the "environmentalist" demands to move the oil companies father off-shore. If drilled at 500 feet this would have been shut off almost immediately; but the same people who strong-armed the government, through a complicit judiciary, into moving the rigs father out as a better option are, I suspect, thrilled with the result of their actions. Show pictures of a few oil coated birds; release some pictures and tell sob stories of the people affected by the scum landing on our beaches and maybe you get to shut down the engine of democracy and accelerate the Socialist State that is the dream of these Progressive Anarchists who portray themselves as watchers of the environment.

Look at the post again. First I didn't reference the past administration a few times only once and not to blame. And if you look at the last paragraph I clearly say that I have some issues with his decision style. And just so you don't forget he wasn't my first choice and I took a bit of heat from my friends because I didn't support him. Saying that he never in his life solved a problem makes you lose credibility. He had to take math in school so I am sure he solved quite a few problems. But I won't take the bait this time.

Actually a 36 years ago they tried the same things they are trying now in 200 feet of water and all of them failed. These companies only know how to drill, they don't plan for the problems. There are 4 governors telling "sob stories" about their beaches right now and none of them are progressive anarchists. All of them have an R behind their name. Need a list?

just as simple to evaluate what a person does without regard to party affiliation?
In corporate America for my 40+ years there was no need to know a person's religion or race or political affiliation to determine how they were doing their job.

Executives are measured on performance. Politicians are not executives. Most do not have the aptitude to manage. Almost none have the ability to lead.
And even if they did they are in a system that retards doing what is right. The system only knows how to deal with that which is deemed politically correct. You know, the concept where one does not have to do what is right.

Almost everything the government does...local and federal...R' and D's ....and what ever...operate solely on the knee jerk response mode of solving a problem that blows up in their face. Then the priority is to assign blame. Next comes what can be done that makes political hay...usually takes more time than a serious problem would dictate....like a leaking oil pipe in the gulf.

Just watch for the energy real disaster that is ticking in the background. 40 years have passed since initial commitments were made to become energy independent. And all that had been accomplished is we are now double the percent dependent on foreign oil (70+%) than we were in the 70's. Nothing has been done. Nothing is being done on a planned methodical basis to accomplish the task.

And just like we the people today are living life to the fullest without a care in the world as one of the most devastating disastor is daily killing off a precious resource, the gulf states, the wild life, the sea life, the jobs, etc.
We the people are great at as long as it is not in my back yard politics.
That is why Washington is full of incompetence from the WH to the senate to congress.

The T party movement is not aggressive enough to wrench this country back to where it belongs.

Me, I heartily support a revolution like the industrial revolution of history. First give Washington an enema...flush out all the wordy flunkies R and D.
Then take this country in a direction that parallels what was accomplished during the 1900's.

It is just that simple. The difficulty is the lack of involvement by...we the people...at a serious enough pace.

Hence the mediocrity we have....we have what we deserve....and it matters not whether the assignation is R or D...I know that is a disappointment because being able to put things neatly in little cubby holes makes things so much easier.....(sarcasm intended!).

This is a disaster – of that there’s no argument. This nation must pull together to confront and take the actions necessary to mitigate the damage and stop the flow. Picking sides and finger pointing accomplishes nothing and results in the holding back of information and the free exchange of ideas. Right now we have at least three separate entities trying to deal with the problem: BP, the States and the Administration - only the Good Lord knows how many agencies are sticking their heads up and saying ‘I’m in charge.’

Gulf oil is critical to the economy of the United States. It is 30% of our oil supply and without it we will become totally at the mercy of the oil states such as Iran. The gulf oil industry not only supplies a huge chunk of our needs for oil but also returns that money to the domestic economy. Shutting it down guarantees not only a double dip recession, but also the serious prospect of a depression that will cripple the United States, Europe and our other trading partners.

Offshore drilling has a remarkably good safety and environmental record – this includes BP. Yes this is a disaster, but it is the first major failure in over 30,000 Gulf offshore wells. For an operation with these many technologic challenges and required decisions this is almost without parallel. Only the Airline Industry approaches this standard. We do not demand the shutdown or nationalization of Boeing when a plane crashes, so why are we so eager to destroy BP?

The administration is driving deep-water rigs away. Several companies have already invoke contract failure provisions in their contract and have begum to move their rigs to Brazil, West Africa, the Persian Gulf States etc. These rigs are gone and will never return. These rigs have been in the Gulf because they trusted the US to honor its commitments. They are now moving out and we have no method to make stop them or reverse the process. It will be years and require a serious commitment by our government before any company will build ones.

Let’s accept that we must restart oil production in the gulf and clean up the beaches. This will require cooperative efforts from all parties. Appoint one person who has full authority over all Federal Government agencies for this problem and get the ones that are not necessary in the cleanup, especially the Department of Justice out of the picture.
