Over the past few months a number of homes along Morse south of Bonita have been re-roofed. These homes are less than two years old. Does anyone know what the story is?

Yes, the shingles were defective and the supplying company is paying for the replacement. (I believe the were corning shingles) not positive.

Is there any way to find out which houses were/are affected? I'd hate to see a house skipped because a homeowner is a snowbird and didn't know to check in the proper amount of time.

How does that happen, other than a builder trying to save a buck.If you have been dealing with a supplier for years, how does that happen?????You change suppliers or you change quality of roofing materials..................why, because your trying to increase your profit margins. They get what they pay for, karma can be a real B*&*#H !!!!!!Now it's going to cost them alot more than money. :swear:

Bad production lot. It happens. Oil wells leak. Planes crash. Production errors sometime slip by Quality control. The important thing is the manufacturer is making good.

It is technically not a (local) supplier, rather the manufacturer.

I have a friend whose shingles were replaced. She said the manufacturer called her while she was on vacation. The call was from the national headquarters of the manufacturer which I think is in Pennsylvania. They said that her shingles were a bad batch and they reroofed her house, this was last year.

The name of the manufacturer is Owens Corning if I remember correctly.

They owned up to it and fixed it.
