Cycled 30 miles this morning, will do more later this afternoon. Drank lots of water. The breeze keeps us fresh. We love it!

I'm not sure I buy the "real feel" number. However, depending upon which site you listen to for the temperature in TV it is definitely hotter than the average and is pushing the high 90's. The encouraging thing for me is that it really doesn't feel that bad. Last year was our first summer down here and I recall feeling like the heat was oppressive - especially during the real hot spell in the later part of June. However, now it doesn't seem to bother me as much. I just came back from the driving range and felt pretty good - and hit even better. Hopefully I've acclimated myself to it and its not another factor like abnormally low humidity.

I can tell you it is hot. I usually work in my garage shop with the doors open and a fan going. That makes it OK not great but OK. The real hard part is when going to the store or lunch it is very cool inside and the heat, particularly in the parking lot is very uncomfortable. Staying in the shade with wind either natuaral of fans makes it comfortable.
I swear you get use to it. But only if you go out doors and try to avoid the AC.

Even further south it's a "real feel" of 24 degrees. Johannesburg, South Africa is hosting the World Cup and the fans are bundled up in heavy coats watching Brazil against North Korea at this moment.
.
As for The Villages, there are plenty of pools and water volleyball in the sports pools, too.

On a brief shopping expedition this morning, I felt quite hot riding there in my golf cart. When I went into the store, I felt positively chilled! I don't think they were keeping things any colder than usual, it was just the severe contrast!

Nevertheless, I still think it cools off a little more here at night!

And, remember: there's never any snow to shovel in TV! :a040:

I was playing tennis from 11:30-1:30 today... yep, it was hot, but, bearable. Helped that it was on soft, clay courts and not asphalt. This is unusually hot for central FL. Thunderboomers are going through this afternoon to knock the temps down (and humidity up).

You do adapt or improvise to deal with the heat.

When I walk outside from the airconditioning indoors, my glasses fog up.

When I go outside to play golf I first drink a large glass of "Kool-Aid" - then everything is perfect. I really feel bad for you people up north who have to play with the temperature in the 70s and low humidity - you probably have to sleep with your windows open. OK enough I have to put my sweater and long pants on and drink my Kool-aid and get to the golf course ---- Love the Heat :)

It is 54 degrees and OMG the sun has come out. The highest we have reached is 70 so far this summer and I know Seattle is known for rain but really usually June July and Aug have at least 3 days of sun a week. The weather this year is nuts. It hasn't been this cold in June for over 20 years.

Been in Florida since "83. Summer is absolutely the best time of the year! We get that "golf cart breeze" when we are out and about. We have our beautiful pools. All houses, restaurants, stores, churches, etc have a/c.

What's not to like? :pepper2:
