R.I.P. Ric Ocasek

Ric Ocasek, lead singer and founder of The Cars, was found dead in his home in NYC today. He was 75. The Cars were a great band, very popular while I was in high school and college. :sad:

Unfortunately when so many older acts are performing again, the Cars haven't been able so much because Benjamin Orr, who sang Drive (their biggest hit) and Just what I Needed (their first hit) died back in 2000 of cancer. Rik sang lead on about a 1/3 of their songs and they have performed a handful of times with him handling all the vocals. They had a lot of hits for a new wave band, one of my favorites.

A great band; kind of quirky and times, but still a great band.
