We are seeing signs of and have seen at least two Armadillos coming out of the reserve in for the back of the neighborhood. These pests can do a lot of damage to lawns and gardens. What can be done?.

They probably submitted the same question in the 'Armadillo Times' when your house was built on their property!

You can buy an armadillo trap on Amazon.com for $47.99, with free shipping.

Maybe so, but to recover the cost of the trap, you would need to catch and eat a lot of them.

After re-reading this, it sounds like a part of a bad joke:doh: - but this IS what I was told:

I was told that the smell of dogs :doggie: drives them away. Have your dog “tour” your property line and that should keep them out. If you have no dog, maybe someone in your neighborhood could load you theirs. Honest!

They will ignore your lawn if there is no food source ie: pests etc. They are pretty harmless and are nocturnal.

Saw one come off the Allamanda golf course and crossed Bailey Trail heading to the storage/maintenance area next to Cane Garden Country Club. As he ran in front of our golf cart a hawk swooped down to get him but a car was driving next to us and slammed on their brakes and the hawk took off. What a sight! and the armadillo lived another day in The Villages. The End.

Depends on where you buy chicken

So, you buy a house that backs up to a preserve and you complain about the wildlife that lives there. Wait until you find an alligator in your pool.

Subsequent to purchasing in TV several years ago we lived in another community that had a lot of Armadillo’s. If they do get into your yard, take two or three aluminum cans and put them into their hole. They will move on.

One round from a 12 gauge won't even bring the cops.

I thought you couldn't discharge a firearm in TV without a thug on the other end?
