Don't text, don't take selfies- use the latest LG flip phone that is 5g compatible & it syncs with our cars--the Admiral uses a smart phone--reuse to be a smart phone zombie-I want to know where I am and enjoy my surroundings

We will try to find a place over near Spanish Springs and be proud that a President visited this place we call home.
We stood right by the state house fence in Columbus, Ohio when Kennedy came to visit.

In 1959 Kennedy came to Brooklyn, my mother & her friends saw him outside of Dubrows Cafeteria on Kings Highway--they fell in love--when he died it was the end of an era

We have a couple of friends who were invited. Years ago George Bush used my husbands office when visiting General Dynamics in Ft Worth, TX. It was interesting to see how all of the security evolved. They even installed a temporary “red phone in his office”. Several years later I was privileged to watch the security prep for Clinton in Berlin. The security is very time consuming and unbelievably thorough. Guess Trump forgot to ask us. :-)

I've had 2 encounters with Presidents. First was Kennedy in 1959 at Eastgate Center in Roseville, Michigan. He came in by chopper and I shook his hand (so there, Bill Clinton). Second was January, 1988 at the Century Plaza in LA ( the LA Western White House). Attended a Rose Bowl function in the Presidential Suite. Although President Reagan was not there it was a treat to see the 3 phones in his bathroom (including the Red one), the landing pad for Marine One, etc.
You have a singular honor, Chat, and we expect you to tell all when done!

Given the events of the last week the security will be crazy tight. The traffic will be tied up for hours so be prepared for it. Unless you have a ticket to the event, I personally would stay away from the Spanish Springs area. To each their own.

Have a wonderful and memorable time. It's always a special occasion to be in the presence of the sitting president of our great nation. When I was much younger, I had the pleasure of being able to shake Richard Nixon's hand while he was visiting his daughter when she was going to Smith College in my hometown of Northampton, MA.

Saw about eight helicopters of two types flying around the Rio Grande area about 12:45 PM today. They must be part of the security force.
I saw Ronald Reagan on the University of Nevada, Reno quad. Quite a pleasure as he was someone I admired and still do. Limited government and all that.
Had lectures from Walter Mondale while at the U of MN Law School. A hall there is named after him so he is there on occasion.

In 1959 Kennedy came to Brooklyn, my mother & her friends saw him outside of Dubrows Cafeteria on Kings Highway--they fell in love--when he died it was the end of an era While in Koll-idge in the late 60's (1967 IIRC) I was working at a local mall in Long Branch NJ, Nixon stopped by in the parking lot one Saturday and made a speech. All I can remember is that he looked and sounded just like David Frye more than David Frye looked like him with the waving hands etc. :1rotfl:
