May be able to rent a relative's home for 6-12 months fbut would need a golf cart
Does anyone have any idea what monthly or yearly rentals are for say a gas 2 seater - just a ball park estimate
Thought of buying used one but than have issue of selling it (cousin would not be interested)

I know Jim Followell rents carts for $300/month (352/259-7525). However, he might cut you a deal for a 6-month rental. You'd have to ask.
Do not rent from TV or their golf cart stores -- you'll get a slow, miserable cart that probably won't even have a sunbrella package and it will cost you more.

Scott and Vickie Prince have reasonable rates and good carts. Call them: 352-552-8478. They are Villagers who have a business refurbishing used carts, called "Grandpa & Grandma's Village Buggies."

I rented a golf cart from Followell for 3 weeks last month. I picked it up and dropped it off at Village Carts in Sumter Landing. It was a nice cart and reliable. I was going to rent from Village Carts, but their's did not have an enclosure.

I rented from Jim Followell and had a great cart. He delivered to my villa and picked it up there. Great service.

For that long a time, why not buy a used or reconditioned and resell when you're ready to leave? And probably, you'll drink the koolaid anyway, and buy your own place.

Just called Jim Followell and he rents gas carts in prime time for $325./mon. I called Grandpa and Grandma also and they are $400/mom.

Don't forget to get insurance on your golf cart. Paying for someone's medical expenses could cost you a whole lot of money. Golf cart is not covered on your car insurance.
Also, be sure whatever cart you rent does not exceed the 20 mph speed limit for golf carts. This is when you are in the golf cart lane on roadways. Anything faster than 20 mph and you can be ticketed big-time. Makes no difference whose cart it is to the judge.
