Getting totally sick of cable companies upselling their services to get the "best deal". I was forced into a "triple Play" on Xfinity to keep my monthly cost lower but I think it backfired. So now I have a phone service I don't use and a tv-internet service (which I like) that's running me $170. My son has internet and you tube tv that costs together $90 and he gets great service. The problem is when you tell the cable company to disconnect their tv service they crank up internet price. Does anyone out there have good internet that can handle today's streaming requirements at a reasonable, fixed price?

I have YT TV for $50/mth.
I have Spectrum for $65/mth.

Love both.

YT TV has a free trial period.
OR
You could have your son put you on his account and you can try it remotely.

Thanks so much. Considering my son has three boys and countless tv's I expect his limit has been reached. He loves it too. Is Spectrum internet ok and is the price a one year deal?

I recently got rid of everything but the internet with Xfinity. I now have their Blast! internet service (200 Mbps download, IIRC) for $70 per month ($80 less the $10 discount for Autopay and Paperless Billing). I own my modem. I can't tell you what the bottom line total is. Waiting for my first full month's bill.

Xfinity Services & Pricing Effective August 28, 2019 (https://comcaststore.s3.amazonaws.com/prod/wk/urc/585bc1875bcd10375b2cea07/high_res/UC0000349_sik_high_res.pdf)

I also pay for YouTube TV, Netflix and Amazon Prime. I figure that the total should be about $155 a month.

The first year, Spectrum was $50/mth.
After the first, it's been $65.
100mbps.

Check with your son..............seems like he can have five accounts.

Otherwise, I think the trial is 7 days.

There can be Six separate households signed into one YouTube TV account. At each location, they will be limited by the speed of their internet. I share my account with Our Three Son's all living in different houses.

$53 for YouTube TV
$20 for Comcast Starter with my own Motorola Modem which was recommended by Comcast.

Change over to Roku for access to Youtube and do it while you still have your old TV service. When you have the hang of streaming and your expensive contract runs out then bail on them. All of a sudden you'll get the best deals they never offered you before. Good Luck.

No more renting equipment every month, it's a beautiful thing!! :1rotfl:

If you want to mess around with it and keep your cable with the "new user" discounts they offer (they do have a "double-play" with only internet/TV) just sign up under your spouse or partner's email. After that "contract" runs out switch back under yours. Been doing that for over 20 years with no problem up north and now here. Currently under my 2nd 2yr contract here with Comcrap. The "new subscription" deals are quite often cheaper or close to the prices of the streaming services + internet. After 12 months you are again considered "new". They really don't care. DO everything online and not by phone or in their office.

We have Century Link for Internet WIFI for $45 per month, no contract so we can quit at anytime. We also have Playstation Vue and it seems to run fine on the Internet connection.

We also have century link at $45 with youtube tv. No problems. I believe that the century link price is a price for life and is not supposed to increase.

I had YouTube for quite some time, and it worked very well. You can have 6 accounts, but you can only stream 3 live feeds at once. You can have 2 accounts each watching the same channel, but you cannot have 6 folks watching 6 different live feeds. Once 3 is reached, the 4th will be denied. Just an FYI.

I switched to the 200+ channel package and 200MB internet with Xfinity for $126 a month.

Centurylink offers 1GB internet for $65/month no contract.

Thanks mucho. Good ideas all. Checked online for Century Link fiber optic service and it said my area had no service? Sanibel just south of 466A. Will try to check on Comcast internet only but expect they will rebel. Right now my speed is "blasting" at over 150 mbs so it is great.
