Verizon is upgrading to 5G. I just learned (the hard way) that older 4G phones are no longer compatible with the network for mobile data. Thanks for the heads-up, Verizon. Visits to two different Verizon locations, as well as "we fix it," and nobody knew this is why my wife's phone won't connect to the mobile data net. Still okay with Wifi, however.
Options? I asked. Buy a new phone. Great business strategy, nasty customer service. There must be thousands of customers affected by this.

Relax, it's got nothing to do with 5G.
It's your phone (or something with the regular Verizon cell service.)
No one has 5G around here yet that I'm aware of.

All I can say is that was their explanation (or excuse) for not knowing why the phone won't connect.

I agree with the above comment, there is a problem with the phone. There are specific settings that block the internet, check these, you may be out of data, we do that every once in a while, finally stop by one of the Verizon stores and have them check the phone. I have data access across 3G, 4G, and LTE on the Verizon network.

Thanks, Tinker, but I've been through all of that. Did a factory reset, updated firmware, tried a new SIM card. People who work on these phones for a living (not Verizon, they are salespeople), have said there is nothing wrong with the phone. Works with wifi. Away from wifi with mobile data on, it says network is disconnected.

Have you called Verizon Support / Customer Service ?
Verizon Wireless - Contact Us (https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/contact-us/)
It's a technical issue with your phone.

I have a 4G phone on Verizon, it is 4 years old not 5g compatible and it works just fine ( Droid Turbo 2).
I too would be curious to know the phone in question!

Agree.
Seems like a lot of drama.

Can you provide the make/model of phone, and the operating system? You have peaked my interest.

It's an HTC10 Android o/s, circa 2017. Have fun satisfying your interest.

Alwann,
Try this, on Google, search on 'htc 10 android will not connect to network' and 'htc 10 mobile network disconnected', this appears to be a known problem and there appear to be lots of possible solutions, some of which I am guessing you have tried.
Hope this helps.

Thanks. I contacted the HTC company. Their rep couldn't figure it out. But maybe somebody out there in Googleland is smarter.

That happens all the time. I had to teach the Hunter irrigation system company how to operate their sprinkler control panel.

I had a Samsung that did the same thing. I got no help from Verizon. It turned out to be that the problem survived the Hard Reset and it was in the Airplane Mode. Don't know how to reset that on your phone but give it a look. Fingers Crossed.
