We are going on a Viking cruise next Aug that starts in Iceland and then goes to Norway (fiords). We finish in Bergen.

We are looking at some possibilities after the cruise:

1. Take the scenic train from Bergen to Oslo, then spend a couple of days in Oslo before we head home.

2. Same as #1, but then fly to Copenhagen for a few days before we head home.

3. Skip the train, and fly from Bergen to Copenhagen and spend a few days before we head home.

Any suggestions, thoughts, ideas?

Personally I would do the train to Oslo, then the ferry from Oslo to Copenhagen.
Stuff the airports and flying.

We are on the same cruise about a month before you. We were thinking of taking the train to Oslo for a few days, then on to Stockholm, with maybe a stop before there. From Stockholm we want to take the overnight ferry to Helsinki, and hang out there for awhile.

We’ve been to Copenhagen recently. Lovely city. I understand most of the metro ring around the city is now open so construction won’t be a problem.

What’s your flight like to the cruise?

I can't offer you a suggestion re: your post cruise travel but you will LOVE Iceland! It is the most amazing place!

We haven’t gotten air tickets yet. We will probably head to Iceland a few days early, so we don’t have to fret about timing.

On both of our visits we did excursions through GeoIceland (GeoIceland Day Tours Reykjavik – Day Tours from Reykjavik | Golden Circle | South Coast | Northern Lights (https://www.geoiceland.com)) and I highly recommend them. Just FYI.
