I am so confused by this forum! I registered, I logged in, I tried to reply to someone, was told I wasn't registered. Extremely confusing. Just bought in the Villages, haven't even seen the home yet - am curious about renting it out. We don't have long blocks of time to come down and try to coordinate furnishing it. Are unfurnished homes popular for renting out? Tried to check out furniture stores in the area, not that many close by and can't be there when they can deliver. Need so much info and I can't even post correctly!
Sorry, just slightly overwhelmed at the moment.

I am moving down to TV on July 17th. I would be happy to help you by being present for deliveries, etc. if it would help. Some one just posted saying they found great furniture by posting a request for it on this forum. I have visited Bargains and Treasures in Oxford. (The west side of TV on 466.) It is a consignment shop with very reasonable prices. You might decide to go that route, the furniture are appropriate sizes and styles etc for these homes. Goes to show, tyhere is more than one way to skin a cat. Sally:wave:

Salybow, what a nice person you are! Sure would love to meet you in person next time I come down.

Now, did somebody on another thread actually ask if TVers are self absorbed? :ohdear:

Olgreen, (may I call you that?)
:welcome:
It probably would be hard to rent your home unfurnished. If you furnish it, it is not hard to rent during snowbird season, especially Jan.-March. You can list it yourself at thevillagesforrent.com. You might want to check out this site and see what homes are listed and how they are furnished.

Come down as often as you can. That's what we do. You will meet the nicest people!

BTW, I remember the first time I tried to post. I was confused too. But, you did it! Congratulations. And Congratulations and all best wishes with your new home in TV!

Greeneyes, we got much of our furniture from Showcase Direct. They have a store in Spanish Springs, and they have a great website. I shop online, email my questions, price checks, etc to a salesperson, and place my order through email. Then when we are down for a few days, we have delivery all pre-arranged. It has worked very well for us. Delivery is free, and TV residents get a slight discount. Showcase Direct is a division of Southern Lifestyles, but more affordable. Enjoy the process! I have had a ball furnishing the "Florida" house!

Welcome to TOTV. Good luck with the website, you'll have lots of fun. It won't take long and you'll be very comfortable with it.

We bought a house sight unseen and then bought some furniture from Southern Lifestyles in The Villages. They put the furniture in the house and it was there when we arrived. They often deal with peeps "from away".

Consignment shopping saves you money for sure, but you need to go there daily to get the "good stuff" as soon as it comes off the trucks. Obviously not an option for you right now.

Best of Luck!

We have used Southern Lifestyles with great results. The consignment shop does get picked over real quick. We decided not to rent as we grab the week here and there as we can especially during the winters here in RI.
