Hello Villager's,

We are still wannabees and are visiting the Villages the end of July. My hubby would like to know if fishing is allowed at Lake Sumter and is a fishing license needed?

Fishing is allowed in most of the lakes and ponds except Lake Sumter. Many of the lakes and ponds North of CR 466 are stocked. A valid Florida fishing license is required

Are the fish edible? On all of the scorecards it says NO BEBER which translates to do not drink (the water) because "this course is proudly irrigated with reclaimed water".

Funny story: I was playing one day and asked the guy we were paired with if he wanted a beer. He said that beer is not allowed on the course. I said "Huh". He pointed out the No Beber on the card. I said to look closely. The word is beber not beer. They don't want you to drink the water in the pond. He started laughing and had a beer with me.

That is funny, Z. But how did you ever figure out that NO BEBER means don't drink the water? Does it mean the water was Bad Enough Before Everbody Rinsed?
