What can be done to get the dirt out between double-paned windows. We cleaned inside and outside, but the windows still look dirty.

If you call warranty, they will replace them. (small charge) Thermoseal busted.

Gracie, you beat me! Yes, I agree it looks like the seal has failed, not sure warranty will cover in all instances, but yes call warranty, and they will provide the original window supplier, and hopefully the supplier will stand behind their product and replace, there might be a cost for the actual replacement, but not for the actual new window.

It is covered for 10 years, as I recall, for the original owners. 75.00 "service fee" per half window. No warranty? (Over 10 years) 250.00

About six weeks from call to install.

Just happened to one of our windows. It's 31 or 32 years old. Should I call Warranty? Oh, I'll cut them a break since the A/C unit lasted the same amount of time. That window being foggy is driving me nuts. I thought my cataract grew back.

Does anyone know of a company that will come to the house and cut the window and put it back in immediately? Is there such a service? No handyman, please. A good window company that you have used. Thank You Berry Much!

Bummer, failed seal. Usually more cost effective to replace then fix. Hope it is still under warranty. We have the same problem with the Patio Slider, house built in 1996 so no warranty applies. Having a hard time finding someone that is willing to replace it at a reasonable cost, going to do it myself this winter when I bring my tools south. Wishing you the best fixing the problem.

Thank you everyone for your very helpful replies. The house was finished in November 2012, so the warranty should apply. Onward and upward!

I had the same issue with one of mine (4 years old). I knew it was out of the 1 year warranty, but called Home Warranty for advice. They directed me to T&D Windows (352-748-0061). The window was covered under the 10 year warranty, so I just paid the $75 for labor.

Hate to tell you but that's not dirt, it's condensation. You have a seal that's leaking. Windows that they put in aren't the greatest. I think this is one of the biggest issues that I've heard in TV. Sorry!

had same problem, but it was not dirt. seal that keeps the insulation in between the panes had broken and the residue was gaseous material. luckily, was still under manufacturer's 10-year for frames and windows, but I will have to pay for the installation.

I had to have 9 replaced in my house. All broken seals. Kinda ridiculous. My neighbor had 10 replaced. Poor quality windows.

I bought a home that had the same issues.
Drove me crazy as I love clean windows.
I replaced all the windows. Pricey but problem solved.
Good luck.

We just called the Warranty Dept, which referred us to T&D. They quoted us $150 for labor!!! The charge is no longer small, unfortunately.

Our seals were broken in the sliders when the house & windows were pressure washed. Now that they are replaced, the house is washed and I do the windows! HK

When did you pay $75 for labor? Maybe it's $75 per window. I think T&D said it's $150 for up to three windows.

It was T&D it was the lower, movable pane a few years ago. If it was 150 I would buy a new window and install myself.
