We've visited TV several times, and are ready to make the move. House is up for sale, we've cleaned the closets and are ready to drive south. Not sure which village to look at to buy, open to all (but definitely predisposed to pre-owned). We have 2 dogs, FWIW, in case certain areas are more dog-friendly than others. Any advice on plusses and minuses from your point of view? BTW have read the "nuts and bolts" section of this forum, just looking for personal opinions.

:welcome: I'm excited for you!

One Village you might want to check out is Springdale on the northside. It has the only dogpark inside TV and it's free! Plus, you'll have great neighbors in Springdale. Like me, for instance.

Drive safely and best wishes!

Oh, and did I mention, the King of Nuts & Bolts himself lives in Springdale!

P we have a very nice shaded dog park in the historic side of Country Club Hills near the golf cart bridge that crosses state rt. 441 near the archery range. It's at the end of Paradise Drive across from the beautiful lake. We also have the only adult pool with lights for night swimming and it is awesome. No bond on our side. Wonderful people. All of TV is great.

soontobefrog, are you renting until you find a place or are you doing the Lifestyle Preview visit?

Congratulations. I can't imagine any finer way to spend those golden years than being a FROG in TV.

A golf cart is a must, even if you are renting IMHO. That is one way to determine where you can go and what activities or places you can get to in a cart from different areas.

There are open houses everyday and you don't need an agent to explore open houses. But when you do decide to make a serious offer, I'd make sure a had an agent representing me.

One of many thing that we realized very quickly when looking for a house in TV, weekends don't mean very much. I mean, normally, you'd expect open houses, yard sales, dancing, music, partying, et al to be on weekends. Not in TV. Everyday is Saturday when you are in TV.

Others will tell you Springdale, or Country Club Hills, or Bonita, or Hemmingway or Pennecamp or Buttonwood, or Bridgeport, but the truth of the matter is that HADLEY is the best. You can sit on the porch and watch people walk a golden retriever, two afgan hounds, two great danes, three poodles, and a menagerie of mixed breeds. Hadley loves dogs. I do too. But we don't have any...so if you move there, please walk by and let me pet yours.

Welcome to you. I hope you love it here in The Villages.
