Article online "Mortgage company given three days to fix issues at abandoned Tamarind Grove villa." I wish they cared as much about their commercial properties.

Apparently the Colony Shell Station is not "in the Villages" but on a separate property owned by a private landholder. Previous operators of the station were apparently tenants. Read this some where a few weeks ago. Don't remember where.

Not sure who you mean by they. District 8 Supervisors ruled on the abondoned house. I can guarentee that District 8 has nothing to do with the gas station.

It was reported in the Sun that 7/11 had taken over the Shell Station property and some kind of activity was going on. Maybe it was permits, license, it was in the construction updates probably last summer. Usually the Sun only reports on Villages owned property, for example Trailwinds updates are never mentioned.

The Colony property will undergo a rehab and update soon enough. The new tenant will open for business and all will be well.

People are very quick to attack "they" on the internet.

I'd bet likely there are lots of EPA issues with the old gas tanks that needs to be cleared up before they can continue. Not sure if they are removing (or already removed) them or even if this 7-11 will even have gas tanks but in either case lots of permits and inspections are usually needed when it comes to gas storage tanks. They have to meet current requirements. Lots of work was going on around the tanks into late summer then suddenly stopped.

According to the Sumter County GIS site, that gas station property is owned by RBMW PARTNERSHIP LLP out of St Pete Beach with a market value of 1.8 milllion. Just FYI
