Like to know if anyone has had experience with Broward Factory Service. We are thinking of using them for there home warranty.

I think that buying a home warranty from any company is a bad idea for the following reasons.

1. You will always get a substandard contractor to work on your house because the best contractors have plenty of work and don't need to share their profits with a home warranty company. You will have no choice of contractors, or whether you need a repair or a replacement.
2. When you have an urgent need for a repair, like an HVAC outage in the summer, do you really want to wait 3 to 7 days for a contractor to show up at your house? You will have no control over the warranty company's schedule.
3. On average, home warranty companies pay out only about 8 percent of the warranty premiums for repair claims.

Buy a home warranty if you want, but good luck.

We had Broward for several years. During the third year the ice maker in our refrigerator stopped working. They fixed it and it operated for one week. They came again. Same result. They then said we needed a replacement of the ice maker. I thought great! I'm glad we had the coverage. I then received a call saying the replacement would cost close to $300.00. I asked why it was not covered. Their response was that they only cover parts not full replacement of any component.

I have not renewed and now "self insure". I'm way ahead.
