Is this possible? If so, who can do it? We are getting ready to purchase cart and want to know options for radio.

I agree, I use the XM app with two great blue-tooth speakers. The speakers were an option when I purchased the cart and were installed by the dealer.

What he said above ^^^^^^^^^^^^^ but if you already have an XM sub in your car "app listening" is now included for free. You just have to create an account online. Since it recently became "included on all accounts" you may have to call them. Previously it was only included on the "all access" sub.

We've had Sirius for years in our car and my work truck. I used the receiver previously from my work truck and installed that, car radio, and speakers in the golf cart. Work fine.

OP, short answer is YES it is possible as noted above. Also, if you do not want the above solutions, you can purchased a MARINE grade radio (12 volt) with the service you want built in, and have this installed. If you have an overhead tray, this is very easy, and then you already have a suitable location for the speakers.

My neighbor had an XM radio installed in his cart by Best Buy about six years ago, cost him $650.

My neighbor had an XM radio installed in his cart by Best Buy about six years ago, cost him $650. Yikes. That's insane .... but that's Best Buy. I bought an "XM Commander Touch" off eBay last year that came with 6 months of service for $20 for $50. Took 30 minutes to install in my Atomic GC.

That radio is currently on sale at Best Buy for $21.99 with free installation and 3 months free service. Good deal for anyone looking for one.

Thanks for the heads up. What did you use for speakers, did you get an overhead panel? Free installation sounds good, but not good for a golf cart since BB is not golf cart accessible.

I installed this:
Robot Check (https://www.amazon.com/Audio-ATV25B-All-Terrain-System-Built/dp/B00B65J5AY/ref=sr_1_8?keywords=atv+blue+tooth+speakers+boss&qid=1576595010&sr=8-8)

I strapped it up in the back of the cart and ran power wires to it inside the same channel where the wires for the back lights run. I installed a 12 volt switch that I purchased at the auto supply store up front which allows me to easily and quickly turn it off if I need to. The switch also ensures the battery does not drain when not in use. It is a bluetooth device so I can listen to anything from radio stations to google play music, to pandora, etc. via the phone. The unit is water proof, runs on 12 volts, and is designed for bouncy enviornments.

That's a nice setup. I was thinking of something more permanent and also I have XM in the car and that Best Buy radio sounds like a good deal. This console comes with speakers and is only $135 with shipping and then just slide in the XM Radio.

Best Buy has an XM Radio for cars for $20 that would probably fit that console.

Get a Bluetooth speaker (home goods $20) and connect your cell phone to it. Use the xm app. Have not had any problems in 8 months of using it.

Hello. We have SiriusXM in our cars. Because we are subscribers, we were able to download the app on our phones.
Now, I just bluetooth SiriusXM through the radio, on my cart. It works great.
Also, we use Pandora and bluetooth that, through the radio.

Waterproof bluetooth speaker from Amazon for $30. App on the iphone from SiriusXM for free as I have a subscription for the car, charger for iphone already in cart and I just velcro the speaker to the top front so I can remove it to charge the speaker battery once in a while and it works great. $30 solution. Battery in speaker lasts 24 hours of use and speaker is only 5 inches long but the sound is excellent.

Does playing the radio kill the smart phone battery that much quicker? Can you can still make and receive calls while playing music? I don't have a smart phone, so I don't know anything about them.

Playing Sirius, Pandora or any other app that plays music has no noticeable extra usage on the Smart Phone Battery.

I do like the clean looking installation of the radio rapped in carpeting but think I'll stick with One of the Bose Speakers we have. Makes your Cart possibly less of a target not having a stereo exposed. Haven't really heard of a rash of stereo thefts but just thinking ahead.

The biggest thing is there is almost no interruption of the signal when you are streaming and you can't beat the sound. :boom:
